I love kids! I mean, of course, I love my bunch of irreverent, cheeky, unstoppable hurricanes (that’s why we’re on the way to No4!); but also, I, generally and genuinely, love kids, with their boundless energy, bottomless curiosity and, at times brutal, honesty! And, they always sense it. Hence, I tend to develop a nearly instant rapport with my little models, and the sessions always turn out to be fun, and the resulting images – naturally and effortlessly beautiful!
I’ve always been passionate about photography, be it travel, nature, people or inanimate objects. That’s why, at any session, I will always be the “last man standing”- suggesting more locations, poses etc., even when the models have run out of enthusiasm!
On the formal side, I have graduated from JCU’s Bachelor of Photography Degree in 2003, collecting most of photography and digital postproduction awards on offer. This was followed by 5 years of working in advertising photography in Sydney, from automotive, to food, fashion, PR, product and children in advertising, collaborating with both local, national and International clients. There, I’ve cemented my retouching skills, as well as meticulous attention to detail, and, generally, perfectionism in execution of all tasks.
Since leaving “the big smoke” for greener pastures od Cairns, and, later, Townsville, I have been concentrating on family photography in all its facets – pregnancy, newborn, babies, toddlers, kids, families, graduations, weddings, anniversaries, etc. In addition, I do a lot of work with local businesses – PakMag, Calanna Pharmacy, Townsville Pregnancy Yoga, Tiny Tots Sign, Essential Skills Swim School, Milray Constructions and many more. Most, but not all, involve working with children.
I love the versatility of my chosen profession, and the way my career path intercepts with so many other people and businesses. I am always happy to volunteer my time and talents to causes I believe in, such Australian Breastfeeding Association, Australian Baby Wearers Association, Townsville Toy Library and more.
Undoubtedly, experience has been my greatest teacher over the years, but I never cease enhancing it through on-line seminars and courses; and am currently half way through Masters studies.
I feel very privileged to be able to do what I love and to love what I do! I hope my skills and passion can bring you many joyful photographic memories and/or enhance your business.
